2000 Farpoint Observatory Open Houses
The public is welcome to visit Farpoint during our summer time open houses, scheduled for
the following dates. We look forward to seeing you under the stars! (Open House is
cancelled if the sky is over 50% cloudy!)
- Next Open House - August 4-5, 2000
If you've never looked through a large telescope under a dark sky, you'll want to take
advantage of this free Open House. NEKAAL members will be there to answer your questions,
you'll feast your eyes on amazing sights, and have a great time.
Driving instructions appear on the observatory
page. Please note that an open house will be cancelled if skies are mostly cloudy.
General Meeting - Next: July 27th
The presentation will consist of slide shows and samples on loan from NASA.
The first presentation will be on meteorite formation. The second is on lunar exploration and types of soil
and rock returned by the Apollo landing missions. Small samples of types of meteorites and different
forms of lunar soil and rock will be available for viewing.
Available by special arrangement with NASA
